(I'm reposting this because I continue to rack my brain about it and can come up with nothing as of right now).
I probably shouldn't be asking this, but when there are people asking Kevin for personal advice, I guess it's not the worst thing in the world.
Here's the thing.
I've been asked (a while back) to host/MC a talent night which is taking place this Saturday. The MCs for this event in past years have been unfunny, mainly because they think talent night is all about the hosts. I actually volunteered more than I was asked, because my friend is in charge of it. Basically I wanted it to be funny, and two morons jabbering on stage is not funny. So I decided to do funny quotes. Plain and simple. I am using mainly Jack Handy (SNL) quotes. The only problem is I need some sort of intro. It doesn't have to be funny, but the only thing good about past years has been the intro. But I'm stuck for ideas.
So basically, does anyone have any ideas about how to start out this talent night?
It must be tasteful (nothing sex or drug related, just a good clean opening) and maybe 5 minutes or shorter. Doesn't really matter, but thats my dilemma.
