You have to remember that these cops don't make up laws as they go along. These are laws that are already established & they're just enforcing them - which is their job.
Sure, some could let these things go, but they could also get in trouble for not enforcing them.
It's your responsibility to make sure that your car is in working order & complies with local laws before you take it out.
