I believe kevin would say he believes in god or maybe that he even is a christian, and I think kevin would or has said the film was taking on how stupid religious dogma is. and that is probably true. my problem with dogma is,his execution of the films take on scripture are what you would expect from a atheist making fun of religious dogma, rather than a believer being funny about it. it would have been quite possible to make just a funny film had he kept the core beings at the heart of the movie more intact rather than just let er rip and come up with things like a oddball female god who acts like a retarded little girl. or a trash talkin black jesus.
figure a christian knows he is going to meet the big guy when time is up.
how do you explain to god that you felt the best way to make a commentary on the problem of dogma to make a point or lesson was to start by breaking down and trashing the main religious beings character? I get dogma isnt a good thing, but I dont think it should be made via turning the central figures into clowns. BTW this is me speaking from a analytical point of view, not from a angry religious person point of view.
