It is a good idea at heart. But as a 13-year public school teacher, I have found that the best
ideas at heart are usually the most difficult to pass by stodgy, tight-collared, mentally
stunted English Directors. I tried such an idea at the beginning of this school year only to
have my idea translated into something else and given to another colleague as "Media
Productions".
Suggest to your teacher to draft a Mild (Modest) proposal and keep a literary slant on things
to match existing curricula. It is better to start slow and build things up to what you'd want
the program to become. Think on Louis Giannetti's UNDERSTANDING MOVIES; it makes for
an excelllent textbook.
Good luck
