blaxploitation explanation??

ok, this is gunna sound pretty ignorant, but seeing how most of u people here know a lot about movies, im sure i'll get an answer. i have a general iddea as to what the "exploitation" genre is... but could anyone sorta explain what is really is (like what kinda style) - - thnx

all i really know is that "blaxploitation" is the "exploitation" genre with black lead characters.
