: I'm relatively new to comic book reading/collecting. I was thiking about picking up the Green Arrow TPB that Kevin wrote. Will I be lost if I know nothing about the Green Arrow in the past or can I just pick it up and jump right in? So far I'm hooked on the New X-Men series and just about everything by Neil Gaiman. Any advice? Suggestions? Recommendations? I'm going overseas for the rest of the year and want to take a decent stock of readable material.

: P.S. Hope this isn't too personal of a question.

I picked up the Green Arrow comics knowing nothing of the storyline, either. For the most part, he fills you in on anything you might not know.
And cheers on finding Neil's comics! That's how I got started reading comics, as well, so I know how you feel!
In my opinion, Kevin's the only one whose writing engages me nearly as well as Gaiman's. I've read a few others, here and there, but Smith and Gaiman are my favorites, closely followed by Garth Ennis.
