You want to exploit Kevin's image to try and sell your film... but he doesn't even have to read it... he should just trust his reputation with you AND he should still rubber-stamp it in a way that suggests his support of the project.
Do you even understand what you're asking? "But I'm not asking for a job... I'm just asking for Kevin's approval to write him into my movie and then tell people Kevin Smith Approved This to trick them into reading it!"
And moreover, you're pissed that you asked it on an overcrowded message board and didn't get a response?
Are you listening to what you're saying?
Here's my notion: how about you write the script... and create an original character in the role you wrote for "Kevin's Likeness"... stretch yourself as a writer, create a whole new director? Or if you really need it to be Kevin-like, write a Kevin-esque character and then run it by your production company's legal department or your lawyer if you're making it yourself and find out how close you can play it without getting into legal trouble.
But to throw a hissyfit that Kevin hasn't endorsed your script sight unseen having never met the guy... we have a term for that.
"bushleague". It's completely fucking bushleague.
