My name is Lyndon and I have been a Kevin Smith fan since the day clerks hit video store shelves. I have seen every movie he is even affiliated with at least 100 times and read over 500 articles and interviews related to him. I am trying to get started in this business. I wrote multiple emails over the past 9 months to askew. I bought An Evening with Kevin Smith when it first came out. In it Kevin says he will do anything he can to help someone out. Well I wasn't asking for a job, to hangout, or money. All I asked was if I could use his likeness in a script I want to write for Project Greenlight. I would think Kevin and his staff would know what it is like to get started in this business without a film school degree. I am a tv production student who is only in school for tv because I can't afford film school. It's just a shame that someone who was the motivation for a struggling newcomer to become a film maker and not just a viewer has forgotten what it's like to make your dream a reality. Especially when the person is wanting to write a script to show his appreciation for what the man has done for the Indy business and the persons entire life. Once again I know Kevin is a busy man, however even my production instructor thinks it's pretty pathetic his staff can not respond to at least one of multiple letters over such a long period of time with at least a standard letter. Again I am not even wanting Kevin to read it because I'm sure he gets millions of scripts I just ask for conscent to write and submit it. Thank you for your time.
