You are correct in that there are a million and one reasons why they could or could not or would or would not write again. But in the age of the internet would you not expect to see some script some screenplay, some word that one or the other continues to write? That there is a story on the way? How long ago was Jersey Girl leaked before it was an actual production?
As far as i can tell this question has not been raised at any point in the past 5 years. How Hollywood is it for two so-so actors to write a screenplay that gets them two academy awards and instant fame? It's just a little too perfect for me.
