Ok, I used to be really into buying music. THen I got a burner and all that stopped. I then spent all my extra money on my dvd collection. Now that I dont download much, i started to buy cds again. I went sorta nutso and just bought cds of bands I wasn't sure I liked, like Phish and porcupine tree who my friend told me was good. So in two days I bought...

Phish (barnhouse)

porcupine tree (in absethin or something like that)

soundgarden (badmotorfinger)

tom petty (full moon fever)

essental carlos santan

what are your thoughts on these albums and bands?

what are some great bands i need to check out that i've most likely never heard of?

I like anything except country. I don't like about 95 percent of rap and i dont' like most metal/rap bands. WHat should I buy?

by the way, those "essntal" cds are great. they are cheap and far, far, better than the average greatest hits cd. I have a far better appreciation of Santana now. I also have Dylan's "essental" cd, which made me a fan of his. Good introduction to great bands
