: just curious

It's a nice place to visit.

But. It's polluted as hell, everyone drives like they want an excuse to die, bikes like they want an excuse to die, walks like they want an excuse to die... everyone moves with singular violent Darwinian purpose, even for mundane tasks like the ATM, when they have all the time in the world. A place where it is not the contents of your soul or the results of your actions but rather, how tough you are and how much shit you've taken. It's a land built for the single-minded and the suicidal, the tough for the sake of tough, the people who like overcoming things just to overcome them.

I may only be three hours away from there... but dammit, Upstate NY is the blue-collar Great Lakes, we've got more in common with Wisconsin than Battery Park. I'm a big stupid easily distracted dreamer.

In what I wanna do, it's NYC or California. The choice is clear.

Stabbed in the back over shot in the face.

Mike
