Not that I also don't think that would be great, here is the issue.
Lets say you are a fan of Oklahoma. You have enough money to make one trip. What do you do. Do you go to the Sugar Bowl or do you go to the Final Game. Either answer is a bad one for the people who run each game.
There will be 75,000 people at the Sugar Bowl. However, if you are a fan of OK, you know they will beat LSU, so you don't go to the Sugar Bowl, you wait for the next week.
So now there are 50,000 people at the Sugar Bowl. As an example, look at how few people in Atlanta attend the first round of the Baseball playoffs. They are waiting for the World Series.
Now, you also have people buying tickets and airfare and hotels in the city for the Championship game. Except, OK loses. Now you are stuck with a trip you don't want. With the current system, everything is guaranteed. The game, the opponent, the sellout, and the $14-$17 million payout to the two teams.
