: You know that's what I meant, Sam, you've been around here more than long enough to know I don't play it that way.
I didn't know that's what you meant, which led to me being completely shocked at your post, as it sounded like somebody gave you a rimjob and sucked out some vital spine-cola, leaving you completely bitchy and bitter.
: He was trying to secure the rights to a play... in an unprofessional, inept way and when that unprofessional inept way failed, he went ahead and just did it.
That's how Columbus led the way for the rape of the Indians by the Pilgrims, and look how well that turned out. We now have Clamatto.
: I mean, I've always wanted to adapt Kurt Vonnegut's Player Piano into a film... it's a dream of mine... but if I never get that opportunity because Kurt or (some day) Kurt's estate has sold the rights or don't want to sell the rights?
Hey, look at Christopher Tolkien, he totally cut his son off from his (Chris's) father's estate. His son went on record as saying "I'm completely cut off. He only speaks to me through his lawyers and once a year at our board meeting. He will never speak to me again, nor will he ever have anything to do with my family. That's just how it is."
Why'd he get cut-off? He showed some vague support for the film adaptations.
Anyway, I'm glad you cleared that up for me, so sorry about the post. It really just seemed like an anti-comment, one that only suits yourself. I stand corrected.
