I never thought of psychic power as 'given' to us by either angels or demons. I've always thought of it as an area of the brain not ever used by the non-psychic public that is somehow awakened by the 'special few'.
If psychic power is really other worldly supernatural beings 'helping' us along, then that's something I'll have to consider whenever I hear those voices again.
