Thats kind of a foolish assumption. The internet has become a wide-spread addiction, not just for the elitist nerd population. While the concept of every computer geek looking like Johnny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie is a farce - I still wouldnt say that every fan of the internet is the exact opposite (even generally).

Ah, but its funny to make preconceptions about people they dont know who use the internet (see above). But it all comes down to making a first impression without the use of inflection or intent. You can be anything you want to be based on how well you get your message across in text. Thats why I dont ever guess what a person is like in person.

Sure. I was about 16 pretending to be 24 because I was some horny kid new to the world of all things gay, and sure it did something for me.
