Hey there all, I guess you could call me a New Askewer.
This will be my first ever post so forgive me if i break any taboos on here(and a subtle hint wouldn't go astray either)
This may start off boring, those with short attention spans can skip down to the actual point, i'll make it visible.
I won't start bleating on about how much of a fan I am of all things askew, why would I be here if I wasn't? So why don't I get onto what finally prompted me to pull my finger out of my all to sizable backside and finally start posting on the borad, instead of just reading?
I'm a comic fan, an obsession which emerged in youth, subsided then came back with a vengange after starting to watch a certain film-maker's work (much to the annoyance of my bank balance) and as these things progress I have become a webcomic fan as well.
I started reading them from a link from this very site and my reading has grown to almost 30 regular webcomics, not to mention numerous dead comics I've read from start to end.
If this doesn't sound like much bear in mind i have read the full archives of these comics, many of which have updated every day for between five and ten years.
*****FINALLY THE FIRST POINT*****
So anyone who has read many webcomics know that lots pay tribute to KS is either subtle or very clear ways. Many of these have been linked in the archives or in newsaskew.
So when I see Greg Dean of Real Life comics has a ticket to see Kevin Smith at ASCU on 03/31/2004 I make the assumption (prehaps incorrectly) that this is going to be a live appearance. So, I figure if theres even the slightest chance this post will get the attention of KS he may want to know, as a comic fan, that a comic book writer/artist (admittedly in a different league than the man who brought back Green Arrow) and a fan will be out there.
If anyone's interested, here are two links to Smith dedicated comics on Real Life:
Feb 26 02 (release of J&SBSB)

Jan 29 04 (Storyline, cartoon Greg fires writer Greg and calls in a list of 'Celebrity Directors' - or simply Greg writing as Kevin Writing as Greg)

********ANOTHER MORE IMPORTANT POINT********
I've been playing with the idea for a while of making a list and throwing it on the web somewhere, basically itemising various comics that have made a reference to view askew.
I'd appreciate a shout first of all telling me is such a list will be cool, or if it just seems so to a guy who has too much time on his hands; secondly if anyone knows if this has already been done, so i don't step on toes and mainly the names of any comics you've seen with an Askew reference. Probably be easier with just the name of the comic instead of the link for every single reference.
***********ANOTHER POINT***********
I hope you americans appreciate a brit like me took the time to write the date in that funny backwards way you do, despite the emotional strain of writing it 'wrong' i was born on the Fourth of July, not July Fourth.
(did that even make sense?)
I look forward to the flames of experienced posters.
