: There is a difference between people choosing to "worship" Kevin Smith, as you put it, and having an icon or an idol pushed upon you, as in the case of Mooby. Mooby is synonymous with other icons in popular culture, such as various Disney and Warner Bros. characters, and of course, Pokemon (the gateway drug for Magic: The Gathering).

But I still lack an adequate explanation for how Jay & Silent Bob differ in our little segment of the world from Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny or Pokemon do in the wider population and/or their own community of fans (or Mooby in the fictitious world that Kevin created). Their images are placed on t-shirts, posters, action figures, comic books and what have you for us to gather and adorn ourselves and our homes with.

I'm not saying that you or any other specific person are worshipping them, however there are plenty of people with a Mickey Mouse watch who don't worship the little dude, either. C'mon.
