: : Chisuano answered one interpretation of your question, and I'll answer another. For a while there in the early 90's, comics were notorious for having a regular storyline, and then a big crossover series that spanned many different comics and include, in many cases, limited edition covers. An example would be the "Age of Apocalypse", which wasn't early 90's, but spanned practically every X-book Marvel add, and even added an new one. So, I think that is what she was referring to. She was stating how she didn't care about the above comic storylines, which no doubt was what Brodie was talking about.

: She said something like "Do I give a shit when two major comic labels are crossing over characters and selling variating chromium covers?" Of course thats off the top of my head I may be a bit off...but...I think the best example of this would be the "DC vs. Marvel" series a few years back, or 'Amalgam' comics in which DC and Marvels universes kinda collided and they crossed over characters. Of course I don't remember this series having variating chromium covers, but still, its the kinda series that if they had had varying covers to make an extra buck (Daredevil #2 and #5??? ;)) it wouldnt have surprised me. So, all in all, she was just throwing out all the comics terms that she'd ever heard Brodie use and combining them to exaggerate.

Back in '92 or '93 Valient comics and Image comics had a huge crossover event, I can't remember what it was called, The first and last issues of this event had chromium covers. This was during the period when every company was producing the worst crap with the shiniest covers in order to pander to the same market that bought collector cards.
