I'm confused here. You are offered the chance to make an unsolicited request on a web-board for a quasi-internship/apprenticeship with a major filmmaker? If you are being "sponsored" by some corporate entity/program, are there not more offical avenues for this program?

Anyway, maybe there is some semantic distinction that you can discern, but it seems to me like you are asking, in an unsolicited fashion, for a job of sorts. And that does seem to violate what passes for "The Prime Directive" around these parts...
