I was talking about long before Dogma occured. Like, thousands of years.
That whole "Humans begging for forgiveness from the Lord" thing isn't something that popped up shortly after Bud Cort went to Jersey, but something that has been part of dogmatic law since the dark ages. In effect, Barry and Larry could have done that long ago and negated existence on their own without Azrael's help.
