Never in a million years would my mom have let me watch Smith movies at 12. Of course, there WERE no Smith movies when I was 12, but you know what I mean. Of course, she did let me watch Pippin, and All That Jazz, and the Monkee movie Head, but there's this interesting thing I've figured out recently. If there were things that were beyond my ken at a young age and I saw movies that involved them, I didn't know what they meant, so they didn't corrupt me. Thing is, these days, with all the hoopla about kids seeing things they shouldn't, the kids KNOW what they shouldn't be watching, watch them, and then learn from that. If the screamers would shut up, their kids wouldn't know any more than we did when we were kids.
