What I meant was that the alternative, a very real alternative, to the MPAA is the universal ratings system that the Feds are itching for. All those dip-shit Baby Boomers can't figure out what TV shows and CDs are bad for their little boomlet teenages. My "NC-17" comment was a riff on what it'll be like when they use the same ratings for everything.
No, I'm serious. Go read www.cnn.com or something. So the question becomes, do we accept the MPAA warts and all, or do we cheer on the Feds who will institute a new, most likely more stringent, universal system?
