Dogma: God's Infalability

I just watched Dogma fort he zillionth time and something finally hit me. If God is infalable then there is no way that Bartelby and Loki could have ever made it through the church, which is the way it happened. On the flip side, if God is not infalable then they could pass through the church and go to heaven no probleum b/c God could be wrong. So my question is what was everyone so worried about.
