The state of Nevada turned down Mike Tyson's appeal to get his licensce back yesterday. I was wondering what everyone thought of this.
Myself I believe that turning it down was a stupid move. The Lewis Tyson fight would have brought millions of dollars in revenue to Vegas. I mean considering that Tyson is reportedly going to get 17.5 million at least, and a cut of the pay per view revenue, they had to realize how big this fight was going to be and how much revenue it would have generated.
Silly move on their part. They can say that they did it for the intrguity (yeah spelling error) of the sport; but since in my opinion they will simply move the fight to a city where Tyson is allowed to box, the Nevada boxing commission just lost out on a golden opportunity to boost the Vegas revenue by a huge amount.
Any other opinions?
cheers
