please pardon the misspelling..
: Since we're selling the DVD for RETAIL price the autograph is free.
i'mm pretty sure the point he's making is that nobody else online
sells ANYTHING for retail.
Which is why nobody is able to turn a profit and online businesses go
under all the time. We're also a MUCH smaller company and can't
exist on razor thin profit margins. Would you rather we cut our own
throats and went out of business? Then nobody would have to worry
about how much malcom's autograph is worth.
: example:
: J&SBSB ranges anywhere from $21.59-$18.74 depending on where
you buy it... as opposed to the Stash price of $29.99
: drawing flies at the Stash is $19.99 while at Amazon it's $14.98 (and
can be gotten elsewhere for the same price or perhaps less)
yeah its weird how Amazon can do that. We buy 2000 copies vs. the
200,000 they buy. I wonder if there is a price break in there
somewhere. you think?
: i'm not saying this is a bad thing it's just that people buying have to
make a choice about where to buy it... would they prefer $5-10 in yr
pocket or would you prefer an autograph on yr DVD. I generally prefer
to hold on to those $5-10 and put it towards something else. If the
stash were more competitive pricewise, i'd be more than willing to
throw my money kevin's way... i'd prefer it, actually... i'm all about
putting money back into the pocket of those who are creating the shit i
like...
So the thought process here is...give me something extra I can't get
anywhere else (the autograph) but give it to me at the same price
someone else who offers me nothing extra sells it for. i'm not against
people making their own choices. i do have a problem with
uninformed opinionated people.
: if the prices were lowered on the discs in general and THEN an
autographed copy was offered for the full retail price i don't think
anybody would complain... then maybe the Stash could start ordering
more copies and getting a better unit price.
I got news for you. Almost NOBODY complains. My beef with that guy
is essentially that his post was unnecessary. "my opinion is
malcoms signature isn't worth $7." Really, who cares what he thinks?
It wasn't constructive like your comment about offering an unsigned
option. His remark is about as valid as the ones of the teenyboppers
who come on here proclaiming how hot Ben is. BTW if you knew how
much we made off of each disc you would probably suggest we raise
the prices.
: AND start taking american express for fuck's sake. do you hate
America SO MUCH that you refuse to accept AMERICAN express?
have some pride, man. : )
I love America but I don't love the exorbinant service charges
American Express charges. You're starting to sound like the whiny
Discover guy.
: personally, i'm going to buy Drawing Flies from the Stash. It's not
like it's going to sell a million billion copies so that's putting the
money in the right place. If malcolm gets an extra $1.50 out of the
extra $5 the stash is charging, cool... brotha deserves a little extra
spending money.
Malcom will receive nothing and like it.
: but i'll be buying J&SBSB from the place that will get it to me the
cheapest... because j&sbsb WILL be selling a million billion copies...
and Harley's already going to harvard.
As is your choice. I like that. You made a decision and didn't feel the
need to bitch about it on a web board. How novel.
