"Played as a classic"?

Where? By who? What are you talking about? It's a classic on every list I've ever seen... and it plays as often as anything except maybe Kubrick stuff at the local repertory theater here.

: The western made from it sure is. Ugh.

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. Another excellent movie, John Sturges did a nearly amazing job of translating the Eastern symbolism to Western equivilants as well as having a great cast and exciting action. People love to get pissy because it's a remake but I think it just makes them look stupid. It's not as good as the original - there are maybe 10 other movies ever made that are, so it seems like a pretty lame argument - but it's a remarkably good film on its own merits.

But again, since I don't know about this concept of being "played as a classic", I can hardly make the argument about which gets more such play.
