First off, stay in school. Partly, to help you get a decent job when your out of school so you wont be struggling if you dont make it big right away. But, mostly, school can give you all the leasure time for you develop your skills, and create a portfoly, and most importantly, it will give you the time to do a comic. Yes, follow the example set by Kevin Smith. The only way to really get noticed is to do it.
As it is, I am an aspiring writer (big shock) and one of the fields I'm trying to get into is comics. I've been wanting to do some independent comics, but unfortunately, I'm not an artist. I propose to you, and other artists that we get together and create a comic. Your art, and my stories. If your interested, My email is justasuperman@yahoo.com.
Oh, and just so I don't make the proposal sound Iffy to you. I will say that I am the official winner of the Thor Marvel talent search. My eight page story will be coming out in a few weeks in Thor issue 50. I don't say this to toot my own horn (ALthough, it does feel good to say it) But, to show you that I have a very small crack into the door. I am officially a freelance writer for Marvel comics, but I am a long way from establishing myself in the field. (I have still not been able to get another Marvel gig)I figure I can speed up the process by creating my own independent comics. Well, interested?
: I'm an aspiring comic book artist/wannabe animator (don't worry i'm not asking for a job) I just want to kno if it is possible to get a job in the comic book industry with no college background. I'm in college now and i hate it. I want to get my stuff out there. I've been told i'm very talented numerous times (so many times even i'm starting to believe it) and i'm wondering if it's possible to make it in the buisness on talent alone. How did you do it?
