frantic, frustrated and female

I'm an aspiring comic book artist/wannabe animator (don't worry i'm not asking for a job) I just want to kno if it is possible to get a job in the comic book industry with no college background. I'm in college now and i hate it. I want to get my stuff out there. I've been told i'm very talented numerous times (so many times even i'm starting to believe it) and i'm wondering if it's possible to make it in the buisness on talent alone. How did you do it?
