Their relationship came across well in and of itself, for this movie. But I was thinking about the way that Alec Guinness talks about Luke's father in the first one, and he has total respect for him. But in this movie, pretty much everything Ewan says is "You're not as powerful as you think" "Think before you act" "You will learn your place" etc. I don't know how much time is between this and the next one, but, since Anakin is only going to get worse, I can't imagine that he's suddenly going to gain respect for him. Especially because, I would think, he'll get in serious shit for what he did to the sand people (since Yoda knows what happened).
