Spoilers may or may not be below. You'll have to risk it...MWU-HAHAHAHAHA

Anyway, what a fucking story that book is! In small parts you can identify with the main character, Bruce Robertson, as he seems a lonely, unhappy, and confused man...with a rash, nonetheless. But that's where the empathy stops. From forcing the 15 yr. old daughter of the local public defender to blow him in exchange for her freedom (she was caught with a bunch of X) to systematically attempting to ruin the lives of everyone closest to him, you soon grow to dislike Robertson for the misogynistic piece of shit he is.

Until you learn more of his past, narrated by Robertson's tape worm. Overall it's a sad, tragic story, but The main character has no one to blame but himself.

THIS IS A SPOILER: Sorry, the ending is to good to ruin if you haven't read the book, so from this point on be WARNED:THIS IS A SPOILER

The last fifty pages were amazing. A state of total despair, leading up to Bruce hanging himself when she walks in the door. But to me, the ending is like Karma. It's the retribution handed down to Bruce for all the shitty things he's done to practically everyone he knows.

He is wearing a tshirt with the words YOU CAUSED THIS written on it, expecting his wife to walk in...instead, it's his daughter.

Has anyone else read this aptly titled book by our man who gave us Trainspotting? I'd liek to hear your opninion.
