Widescreen at Blockbuster

I was reading further down the board and saw that online petition post that Donnacha posted. Being a video store pee-on, let me explain why this'll never happen at Blockbuster.

Back with DVD first came out, only the people that "truly" cared about movies had one. Those people all appreciated the widescreen format, and everything was good.

Then Wal-Mart started selling $60 DVD players and all the casual movie viewers could afford one. These are the people that ruined it for the rest of us. We used to buy only widescreen. Then, since the influx, we've had to buy both. Now we basically buy 1 widescreen and the rest all fullscreen. When we sell them off, I always keep the widescreen for the store to continue renting, but sadly, that one copy has the least performance level than the fullscreens do.

My advice is to boycott Blockbuster altogether and hit the Mom & Pop stores, because I guarantee those people will have widescreen.
