All those heros have dark hair with a "bad boy (girl)" vibe. Because, of course, dark-haired bad asses are cool. But Raimi strikes me as the more toughtful, stereo-typical storyteller type that always looked up to brooding, shifty anti-hero type. Then as a side-kick, you make them blonde to visually off-set the main character. Blonde also implies youth and naivitey (did I spell that right?). I think this is why he is doing such a bang-up job on Spiderman. A character that speaks to him by by-passsing the dark lead character.
