My creator-owned premise, I just got rejection letter on... but I'm not so very disappointed, after the first month, they announced "Uh, we've decided not to do creator-owned books"... besides, the concept was really out-there.

I'm waiting on a Punisher story that's kind of... the ultimate Batman story without Batman and with Punisher as the villain.

Then I might write a little team book at the edge of the Marvel Universe... sadly, they don't have the ALF rights anymore, so there goes a pitch of mine... and I've been considering doing an X-Men submission but my best X-Men submission would be about how lame they're gotten since they gave up their secret identities and put on leather and became a murderous international military force. And they probably wouldn't dig that.

I was actually hoping to see a lot of non-Marvel Universe stuff... comedy and hard sci-fi and autobiography and so on... but it doesn't look like they're heading in that direction anymore. It looks like they're focusing on the slight reinterpretations of the battling in tights.

Which... is fine, I guess. Just, please, not another parody of the JLA. Please please please. The only funny parody of the JLA in the last five years was... Brian Quinn's and that was because it wasn't really about being a parody of the JLA, it was about being the normal human boyfriend of a superhero who just happens to be in a JLA parody.

We've seen too damn many JLAs.

Mike
