on paper, no one would, because it seems like a tremendous amount of money, yeah? i mean hell, that’s more than any kevin smith film has made, right? in actuality, its really not a great deal of money when you know that they put 120 million dollars into making the marketing the thing. is it profitable? yes...was it a good return on the expenditure? no, not really.

daredevil was a tentpole film, it was expected, and made (to an extent) to gross at least triple what it did. financially it might not seem like a disappointment, but realistically (film industry, mind you) it was.

: I think the point made about Elektra going into production speaks volumes.

if daredevil had a 75 million dollar production budget and 45 million for marketing, watch elektra have roughly a third of each for a better return on the investment.
