: : : : The point is, nobody expected that an american government, particularily a Republican government would ever try to seize this much power.
: : : I bet the 9/11 attacks were also part of their plan to sieze power while they were twisting their mustaches.
: : Oh, the wit!
: Well thats what you are making it sound like when using the term sieze. You are making him out to be senator palpatine.
In a lot of ways, that's not a bad comparison. In any case, I can't think of a phrase that describes it better. Grab this much control? Clunky. You tell me, then.
: : Wait... the left wing has been too pussy to come out in favour of gay marriage?
: Yep, they are all about civil unions but no gay marriage.
Ah... now I understand the confusion. The democratic party is not the 'left wing'. 'Liberal' is a dirty word in that party. I consider the Democrats slightly left of center, and even that only if you define 'center' as the median of American opinion.
: : : :Dubya needs to sway the independent voters to win, and yet he's looking more and more fundamentalist.
: : : Where are you getting your stats? Last I saw he was front runner.
: : Well, last I saw they were statistically tied. Nevertheless, even if he is a front-runner, he could lose the 'independent' voters if he offends them with an issue like this.
: I've seen that poll... thats the one they take right outside the unemployment office. I'm not saying I am voting for bush.. I am not a fan of his dealings with the economy but I just started this whole thing because of, like I said the "Drama"
: He sucks enough, there is no reason to exagerate things.
Sorry, I don't see the drama. Bush has surprised me with how far he has pushed things. He ran on a platform of 'compassionate conservatism', and yet has been the most conservative president in a long time.
