Chisuano answered one interpretation of your question, and I'll answer another. For a while there in the early 90's, comics were notorious for having a regular storyline, and then a big crossover series that spanned many different comics and include, in many cases, limited edition covers. An example would be the "Age of Apocalypse", which wasn't early 90's, but spanned practically every X-book Marvel add, and even added an new one. So, I think that is what she was referring to. She was stating how she didn't care about the above comic storylines, which no doubt was what Brodie was talking about.
