'ello,

I really enjoy Kevin Smith's movies and his other various works. Plus he is so damn easy to identify with and likeable its difficult to not gloss over some of the "lesser" elements of some of his work. However, That's what I'm going to try...(the not glossing over part).

Is it just me or is the ending to "Amy" just a little too "Indieish"? It seemed to me that there was a fairly easy way for some or all of the characters to reconcile without going to full on "nicely-tied-up-everyone's-happy-type hollywood ending". It just struck me as working too hard to NOT be something at the expense of the flow of the story/against established character behavior.

Obviously my personal life is not a template for "truth" but I have remained friends with people who have inadvertently or directly contributed to my ending relationships with women before. In retrospect even though I was close to the ladies I am glad I retained my friendships rather then gamble on the romances.

Maybe the characters were still too close to it to make the first step, or maybe it was because they were seperated in their respective booths, but it could have been addressed I think.

Or maybe I'm a total sap.

The "everyone's now gay" motif towards the end of JSBSB didn't really do much to advance that. (In a summary Kevin did state that he wasn't gay...I got confused at the seeming reversal). If anything all parties have grown further apart (with the obvious exceptions).

I don't know, is something as little as offering to have a bisexual threesome that damaging?

Thoughts? Feedback? Ruthless cries of "You're an idiot"?

Frank
