What to expect? How to act? What's the buzz, and can we tell you what's a'happening?

Vulgarthon is a film-festival, of sorts, with some really cool interplay between the audience and the filmmakers. Here's the basic rundown of what you, as an audient, can expect to do..

1)PICK UP YOUR TICKETS: The Stash, which is pretty close to the theater, is the place to pick up your tickets. Chances are, you'll see a familiar face behind the counter. Try to remember that in this pre-event time, there will be other folks clamboring to get their tickets, too, and while YOU may think it's keen to ask the dude behind the register to belt out a "You tell 'em, Steve-Dave," chances are you are the 4000th person to do so, and patience may be wearing a little thin. In essence, be cool; remember that there is a function going on, and don't loiter unneccessarily, as the tickets DO need to be dispesed, and remember that the people running the logistics are doing a job, and can't really chat or pose for everybody's pictures. Buying insanse amounts of merchandise, however, is wholly encouraged.

2)PRE-SHOW: You'll get your tickets, with your theater assignments from the Stash. There'll be some wait time before the event begins in earnest... During this time, a big ol' line will be forming. There's a sort of odd social chemistry and bonding to the procedure; if you choose to hang out on line, you'll get a chance to meet and greet your fellow board-posters...Who are, by and large, far less frighening and far nicer than you might think. Historically, during this time, you *might* also get a chance to hang out, for a bit, with some VA..um.. glitterati. (If one can call Brian Lynch or Malcom Ingram a "glitterati.") Again, the general rule is "be cool." Pictures are fine, meet'n'greets are super, and maybe some signings, if they are super quick are all acceptable, but remember, there are a few hundred other folk clamboring to do the same, so don't hog somebody's time past the point of social acceptablity...Which is not to say that you should be afraid that you are being a jerk if you engage somebody in coversation-Everybody is super-approachable, and really nice, so don't be shy.

3)ON YOUR WAY IN: You'll need photographic evidence for your officemates/school-friends/fellow crack-house denizens that you did, indeed, meet that guy from CLERKS, and as you go in, Kevin will be greeting everyone, and posing for a quick snapshot with them.

4) THE SHOW BEGINS: Here's where the fun begins. The films are sandwitched with intros by folks invoved with the production, and are ended with Q&A sessions that are really cool. The theater is a relatively small one, so there really are no bad seats, and the atmosphere of the Q&A is very intimate and loose.

5) BREAK TIME: It is a long time from beginning to end, and you'll need more than popcorn and ju-ju-bees for nourishment, so a dinner break is scheduled, which allows you to stretch your legs and hang out with your fellow askew-folk. It is not unheard of for folks to dine with the VA rabble. They are notorious carousers. (And suckers for free drinks.)

6)AFTER-PARTIES: After it's all said and done, there's still fun to be had. Going out eating and drinking, with the crowd, and with the VA folk has led to some historic parties. MONDAY'S showing will have an official "after-party" at a bowling alley not far from the theater. But expect hotel-parties to be going on as well, and, if history is a judge, expect Vincent to be hugging you before the night is over.

THINGS TO NOTE:
Cameras are cool-taking stills during Q&A is well-nigh expected of you.VIDEOCAMERAS are not cool. Footage of Jason Lee showing up on E-BAY is not what the event is all about. Seriously. No videocameras in the theaters.

Imagined "board-grievances": Check them at the door. In "real-life," everybody is there to have a good time, despite what lunacy they may babble on a web-board. Remember well the lesson of J&SBSB. Honestly, this is really not a problem at all; in the past, by the end of the night, EVERYONE is thick as theives.
