ever mentions that. Everything is always the Jews' fault. But Christ was born a Jew and died a Jew and that's rarely discussed. Gibson comes from a hateful home and he knows, on some level, that he'll be propagating more hate. Why can't we just get along as HUMANS? Will we ever see tolerance? There are many people who believe that the Jews killed Christ and this movie will only add to the hatred. There are many people who will take Gibson's movie at face value and it scares me. As a Jew growing up in a large city, I had several episodes in my life when stupid people made horrible remarks when they discovered I was Jewish. Because I don't "look Jewish" or "act Jewish" -- whatever that's supposed to mean, I really shocked people when they found out I was.
But if you are a Christian and are strong in your faith, then you would believe it was God's plan for His Son to die so that he could be resurrected. So, as Bill Maher said, "The Christians should send the Jews a thank you note." I wouldn't go that far but I'm trying to make a point. We need to tolerate each other -- whether it's on this board or out in life.
In these trying times when we're attempting to keep ourselves safe from terrorists, it would be nice to have some unity and tolerance back home and not more discord and hatred.
