Man, the last post I saw last night was Hawkboy's "Damn Skippy". I went home, kissed my wife, went to bed, and just got to work now.
Then I read all of the posts under my original "Jay/Bob #4 - Big Disappointment" post...

What the hell happened? World War III broke out over something an occaisional poster happened to dreck up! Sorry, Hawkboy. You had my back on this issue early on and I'm sorry I got you involved in this mess. Now, I don't feel like taking this further, but here...I'd like to offer a few explanations and apologize for getting the whole board's panties in a twist.
1. Yeah, I didn't like #4, but it's not the end of the world. For those of you who think that's blasphemous...you really need to get laid.
2. To set the record straight, I used the word "lazy". Hawkboy didn't. And I never called Kevin "lazy". For my money, there's not a harder working man in show business (except for Dan Hedaya who is in EVERYTHING). I called the writing lazy. That means (to me) the story seemed slap-dash. Full of lots of possibly good plots threads, jokes, and Dogma set-up that never came together. Why did this happen? I'd guess that Kev was rushed and had to get the book out. If Kevin didn't like my adjective choice, that's fine. I gave him a bad review and no one likes bad reviews...but don't discount the validity of my opinion.
3. I got mad at Gaidin not because he/she disagreed with me, but because Gaidin COMPLETELY discounted my opinion. Gaidin said "Oh, they must not like the book cuz they're mad at Kevin because the book is late." Once again, Fuck that. That completely takes any value away from my honest opinion and portrays me as a short-attention span fanboy who has had a simple lovers-spat with his favorite comic god. I respect this board and I know it is a "honorable" place, but ANYONE who blows off my opinion that easily can lick my pucker until toxic shock sets in and they die.
So, to sum up, sorry if I pissed a few people off. Love the board, love the Askewniverse, and I do love almost all the works of Kevin Smith. Hawk, sorry I wasn't there to get your back last night, but it never occured to me how bad this could get.
It was a great, great thread and I got called a "pompous ass" by Silent Bob. What a weird night.
