I read Herbert’s dune (episodes 1-3) a considerable time ago now. But recently, when bored and sifting through my own inadequate local video store, I came across a copy of Dune. Until this point I was unaware of there being a spin off from the book, and the reason for its unfamiliarness became apparent. After the book series being so brilliant, I expected film, which could stand up to the other giants of sci fi e.g. 2001 and S.S. trilogy. I would be very interested to hear any alternate opinions or comments!
